Fenton Art Glass 2009 Slippers and Horizons Vases Arrived!

We received the first of our 2009 Year Round Catalog order and all the 2009 Horizon vases Yesterday! Most of the new slippers (4 out of 5) arrived and hopefully the remaining items from the Year Round Catalog will ship within a few weeks. The 2009 Horizon vases look even better in person than the pictures! I love the way they used a satin finish on the Indigo Blue and Mulberry vases. I think it really makes the painting stand out more. The reds on the Buttercream vase are a great compliment to the Ruby base. If you haven't seen these vases, click here and take a look.

Can't wait for the rest of the items to arrive!

Fenton Art Glass Molds

When the Fenton Art Glass company announced the possibility of closing last year, many Fenton collectors were concerned about what would happen to the molds. The main concern was that they would be brought and used to produce reproductions. Everyone can breath a little easier based on a 02/27/09 story in the Parkersburg, WV newspaper. The story was mostly an update on the Fenton Art Glass Company, but it also included a quote from George Fenton:

"We (sold) excess equipment... to free up space and give the funds the items can bring in," said Fenton. The items included industrial tools and office materials - molds were not included.

The first is a Guess Set with a black glass base produced in 2002 and it is inscribed with 12 Fenton Family member signatures. The second piece is a basket produced in 2004 and features the same lemonade on topaz opalescent design. You can see both pieces by clicking on the links below:
