Nobody makes baskets like Fenton! Fenton started creating baskets in the late 1930s. Attaching a basket handle requires a great deal of skill. There's less than 30 seconds to attach and shape a handle before the glass cools and is no longer workable.

In the 1950s, company President Frank M. Fenton and his brother Bill Fenton, who was Vice-President, decided that each Fenton basket handler should have a distinctive mark so collectors could identify the artisan who created their basket. These marks are impressed at the base of each side of the handle. To learn more about basket handler marks, click here.

Fenton Royal Lenten Rose on French Opalescent Glass

Another one of the popular Fenton Glass designs is the Royal Lenten Rose on French Opalescent. It was first offered as part of the 2002 Christmas collection. It was so popular that Fenton created new pieces for the 2003 Christmas collection. The beauty of regal hellebores blooming in the glistening snow is captured in Fenton Glass designer Kim Barleys elegant design on French Opalescent glass. With Fenton's the stop in production of traditional glass this year, Christmas art glass has been harder to get. Don't wait to late or these great hand crafted items will be sure to sell out.
